Apostille Services in Little Rock & Central Arkansas

Sending an important document to another country? You'll likely need an apostille — and the process trips up most people on their first try. LDJ Associates makes it simple. We handle the notarization, document preparation, courier, and Arkansas Secretary of State submission so your document is authenticated correctly the first time and your timeline stays on track.

What is an apostille?

An apostille is an internationally recognized certificate that confirms a document is genuine so it can be accepted in another country. In Arkansas, only the Secretary of State's Business and Commercial Services Division is authorized to issue them. There are two types, and the destination country determines which one you need:

  • Apostille — for countries that are members of the Hague Apostille Convention.

  • Certificate of Authentication — for countries that are not members of the Hague Convention.

You don't have to figure out which one applies on your own — we'll help you confirm it before anything is submitted.

Documents we commonly help apostille

  • Birth, marriage, and death certificates

  • Powers of attorney

  • Diplomas, degrees, and transcripts

  • Single-status / unmarried affidavits

  • Adoption paperwork

  • Background checks

  • Corporate and business documents (articles of incorporation, agreements, certificates of good standing)

How the Arkansas apostille process works

  1. We confirm your requirements — the document type, the destination country, and whether you need an apostille or a certification.

  2. We notarize or prepare your document — many documents must be properly notarized first, with a complete notarial certificate, before the state will authenticate them.

  3. We submit to the Arkansas Secretary of State — we handle the request form, the state fee, and delivery to the BCS office in Little Rock.

  4. We return your finished document to you, ready for international use.

Important things to know

  • Only Arkansas-issued documents can be apostilled by the Arkansas Secretary of State. Documents issued in another state must go through that state, and federal documents (such as FBI background checks or naturalization certificates) go through the U.S. Department of State. We can guide you either way.

  • Remotely or electronically notarized documents are not eligible for an Arkansas apostille — they must be notarized in person. This is exactly where our mobile notary service comes in: we come to you, notarize in person, and keep your document apostille-ready.

  • Documents in a foreign language generally require a notarized translation.

  • Arkansas charges a modest per-document state fee in addition to our service fee.
